#168 Spin The Butterfly Wheel with L for Latch Fold Card.

The Butterflies are back with another card shape for you.
Whilst I do have lots of new card shapes to try I don't have one to use for each letter of the Alphabet so this time round we are going Random and some letters will be used more than once and in any order!

The next letter out of the Tea cup is
the letter
L
Come on in.
Lets Spin the Butterfly Wheel.

Each challenge will be a letter of the Alphabet with a new  choice of 4 Colours , 1 Theme and a specified Card shape all beginning with the chosen letter.

As before I will be showing a tutorial for each of the card shapes.
A link to the tutorial page is shown above under the banner heading. Just click on the Card Shapes tab and you will be taken to a drop down list of all the past and present card tutorials.

You must of course use a butterfly on your entry but there are now two categories for you to choose from.

1.    Make any  card using at least 2 of the colours on the wheel +butterfly.

     2.    Make a card using the Card Shape +any 2 of the colours + the theme +butterfly.

There will be a prize for each category.

Please state in your post which part of the wheel you are using to play with.

There will be a special prize draw for using all elements on the wheel.

So lets get started.

The wheel is
L
and

Latch Fold Card.

This is a nice easy shape with just 3 folds.

These are the four colours to choose from.

The theme is Lace  either Real or Faux.

2. You will need strips of card stock in varying widths and choice of colour.
Piece of acetate to fit your card front.

 3. Adhere ds tape to the back of chosen strips.

4. Adhere strips to the piece of acetate. Try to leave the same gap between each one.

6. Adhere to the front of your card base and finish off card as required.

Tutorial II
This is a picture of the finished card design.

1.Either use a card blank which is 4" x 6" or cut a piece of cardstock 8" x 6" and fold in half along the 8" width.

2. This is what you will need to make the card.
Strips of card stock in varying widths and choice of colour.
Piece of acetate to fit your card front.
A flower die. Here I have used a small pansy.
A  Circle die. Here I have used a 3.5" diameter one.
Card Base.

3. Die cut a circle from the acetate. Use a piece as thin as possible. N.b.  You may need to make several passes with your machine depending on the thickness of the acetate used.

4. Trim with scissors if needed.
5. Adhere strips of card stock in the required design. I have used d.s. tape. Glue can be used but it may seep out if too much is used onto the acetate between the strips.

5. When circle is complete turn over and trim round the edge to neaten.

6.  Die cut your flower from the acetate. Again you may need to make several passes with your machine and finish off trimming with scissors.

7.  Adhere foam backed tape to the reverse of the strips making sure that none will show on the front.

8.  Die cut another flower from cardstock of choice.

8.  Adhere through the circle to the card front to make a recessed design.
Finish off card as required.
