Edge to Edge Shaker Card.

E
is for

EDGE TO EDGE SHAKER CARD.

This is a picture of a finished card using the design instructions to make.

1. I have not included actual size instructions as you can  simply  make the shaker to fit whatever card size you are using. N.B.  For your information only, the card above is 4.4" x  6.25".

2. You will need a cellophane bag (the packaging that stamps and die sets are sold in is ideal. N.B.  Acetate is not suitable as it is not pliable enough to wrap around card.)
Cut the top and bottom from the cellophane bag and cut down the sides. You should be able to get two pieces of cellophane from each bag.

3. You will need a sheet of design paper or cardstock (cut to fit the size of the card base you are using.)  for the back of the shaker element.  Here I have used a piece of design paper that I have run through an embossing folder but this is not essential.

4. Your piece of cellophane needs to be slightly larger than your design paper.  I hope you can see here. I have placed pink card underneath as it did not show up on white paper.  Place your design paper (front side) down onto the cellophane.

5. Stick d.s.tape to  3 sides of the design paper,  leaving one short end open.

6. Adhere the cellophane tightly around the 3 sides leaving one end open to make a pocket.

7. Fill your pocket with your required shaker element. Here I have used iridescent   sequins. N.B. Do not over fill as you want to be able to shake the card about.

8. Apply tape to the back of the opening and adhere down tightly to securely enclose the shaker element.

9. If you are using thin design paper (as I have) you might need to adhere to a slightly larger piece of cardstock (for added stability) before adhering the shaker element to the front of your card.

You can now go ahead and decorate the rest of your card as required.
